African Studies

Description: 

This comprises a number of courses that boarder on African culture and development and is compulsory for all first year students. The students are required to select two of the courses – one in the first semester (2 credits) and another (1 credit) in the second semester. The courses introduce students to a wide variety of African socio-cultural and development issues including the family, sexual and domestic violence, religion, music, resources, chieftaincy, politics and democracy, festivals, colonisation and Pan-Africanism.
